Lucifer’s Rose

Book 1 of the Court of Frost duet

Welcome to the Court of Frost

Water spilled from her lips, followed by a ragged, shuddering breath. Her eyes flew open, violet and blinding against the twilight.

She coughed, shivering, fingers clawing weakly at my collar. I caught her hands, steadying her as she dragged in another ragged breath.

“You’re safe,” I said softly, even though my heart was still hammering against my ribs. “You’re safe now.”

Her gaze flicked to mine, confusion and disbelief warring in her expression. She could feel it, the faint hum of her power echoing inside me, though I was never meant to hold it. Her lips parted like she wanted to ask how, but no sound came.

Then she sagged against me, exhausted.
